Tuna Casserole

This recipe is perfect for an easy night meal. Can be prepared earlier and then thrown in the oven to cook for about 20 minutes. This is also great for using up all that crushed weetbix left in the bottom of the box.

Ingredients:

500 grms pasta eg. penne or shells
4 tablespoons butter
8 tablespoons plain flour
3 cups milk
1 425grm can of tuna
250 grm corn kernels
3 Weetbix biscuits, crushed
1/2 cup grated cheese

Method:

1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Grease a large casserole dish. Cook pasta and drain.

This is the completed sauce mix
2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter, add flour and cook on low heat for about 1 minute, stirring. Add the milk a little at a time, stirring continuously, until the sauce thickens. Mix in the tuna and corn.

3. Mix the sauce through the pasta, place in casserole dish and top firstly with the crushed Weetbix and then the cheese.

4. Bake for approx. 20 mins until the cheese is melted and brown.

This is just before it goes in the oven
