This is a Dutch delicacy that my mum would make, just like her mum did. Every Christmas as a part of our celebration feast the little bacon wrapped sausage/meatball would be the first to be devoured. It would not have been Christmas without them and now I am going to share this special recipe with you so you can enjoy the flavour of Europe also. They would definitely be a hit on the BBQ and everyone will be calling out for more.
Ingredients:
500grms sausage mince
500grms beef mince
100grms (2inch) Dons Latvian Liverworst
1 egg
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/4 tspn nutmeg
salt & pepper
250grms Thinly sliced smoked bacon (Kaiser)
Method:
Mix all the ingredients together except for the thinly sliced bacon until it is firm but still a little sticky. I found that mixing this in the mix master helped to combine the ingredients really well. This can be mixed by hand if you prefer.

Roll into long balls, see picture.
Place thinly cut bacon around the balls.
These can be cooked straight away or frozen for use at a later stage.
Add oil to fry pan and cook meatballs (Kebacadatjes) on a low heat. Turning occasionally until cooked through.
Traditionally served in bread, or it could be served along side a bed of rice.
