Quick & Easy Slab Pizza


Pizza Base Ingredients:

1 cup warm water
1 tablespoon compressed yeast or 1 pkt dehydrated yeast
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tspn sugar
1/4 teaspoon oregano
2 cups plain flour
1 teaspoon oil



Topping Ingredients:

1/4 tin tomato puree
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1/4 teaspoon basil
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
145 grams Swiss cheese grated
125 grams mild salami (or mixed bacon)


1. Place water, yeast, salt, sugar and oregano into a medium size mixing bowl. stir with wooden spoon until dissolved. 
2. Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
3. Beat 1 cup of flour into the yeast mixture until smooth, stir in the remaining flour.
4. Cover and rest for 10 minutes.
5. Place tomato paste, puree, basil, oregano and seasoning into a bowl, and mix together.
6. Grate cheese.
7. Lightly grease oven tray with the oil.
8. Place the dough onto the tray and spread to cover. (You can make round base if you prefer).
9. Spread tomato mixture on top.
10. Place the meat on top, then cover with cheese.
11. Bake for 20 - 25 minutes


If you prefer a thinner, crunchier crust then divide dough & topping in two and make two pizzas. If dough is a bit too sticky when spreading over tray just add a little flour. You can also add other toppings if you wish, this is just a basic easy quick pizza - great for those lazy days!
