Mustard & White Wine Roast Beef in the Slow Cooker

This was the first meal I cooked using my new slow cooker and it turned out delicious! Before serving this up I added some gravy mix to the juice and poured it over the meat and it tasted simply yummy! Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Dutch Chicken Croquettes

This is a traditional Dutch recipe that my mother gave to me. She would make these only for special occasions, like Christmas or Birthday's!

They are certainly a special treat, especially because the making of them is quite a bit involved but definitely worth all the effort in the end.

Lumpia - Filipino Spring Rolls

Said (Loum-pia), this is a  Filipino spring roll.
Taught to me by my mother in-law, this recipe is absolutely delicious and perfect for any party or celebration. They tend to disappear faster than they are served, and they go perfectly with some sweet chilly dipping sauce.

Kebacadatjes

This is a Dutch delicacy that my mum would make, just like her mum did. Every Christmas as a part of our celebration feast the little bacon wrapped sausage/meatball would be the first to be devoured. It would not have been Christmas without them and now I am going to share this special recipe with you so you can enjoy the flavour of Europe also. They would definitely be a hit on the BBQ and everyone will be calling out for more.

Sweet Tropical Fruit Salad

This is a traditional Filipino dish, made easy by using canned fruits. Just what everyone needs for a quick and easy dessert when friends or family are coming over for a feast. It is great for any festive occasion but goes down perfectly after a Christmas dinner. This dish always tastes better made a day ahead.

Christmas Gingerbread House - Preparation

This Gingerbread House is something I really enjoy making for Christmas, I make it in place of the traditional Christmas Cake. Everyone loves it when it comes time to break up the Gingerbread House on Christmas Day. It may look complicated but with the right instructions and patience anyone can bake, build and decorate this delightful little house.

Red Wine Venison Steak Stew

Need more sleep? Just one more reason to drink red wine!

New research shows that red wine, especially Cabernet Sauvignon, Chianti, and Merlot, contains melatonin. Melatonin regulates the body clock, so drinking a glass of red wine before bed may help you sleep. Melatonin is also an anti-oxidant, which means it also has anti-aging and cancer preventative properties.
